By my friend Samantha Richey

All my life i have lived like there was no tomorrow. But all that has done is breed anger and sorrow.

I built a temple to shield me from the pain.

But now all I know has turned grey.

My tears form an ocean of fears yet to be discovered.

There are so many of deaths mysteries left to uncover.

My love is now buried deep in my core, until you travel the dark path where I belong until I feel your touch once more.

Abused

January 21, 2008 at 8:48 pm (poem) (, , )

By my friend Samantha Richey

Why did this happen?
What will people think?
When they see bruises on my arms,
and a handprint on my cheek.
I thought he cared.
I didn’t know it could turn bad.
How did this happen?
He’s supposed to be my dad.
I wish this never happened.
I should have seen the signs.
This should have never happened.
I should have seen his lies.
I really tried to fight it.
I didn’t know that I would lose.
Why did this ever happen?
Why was I abused?

You Are(poem)

January 13, 2008 at 4:02 pm (Random) (, , , , , , )

You’re…
My friend,
My companion,
Through good times and bad,
My friend,
My buddy,
Through happy and sad,
Beside me you stand,
Beside me you walk,
You’re there to listen,
You’re there to talk,
With happiness,
With smiles,
With pain and tears,
I know you’ll be there, throughout the years!

Life is a Gift

January 11, 2008 at 9:23 pm (Random) (, , , , , )

There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her.

She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend.

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, “Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?”

The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind, too, and refused to marry him.

Her boyfriend walked away in tears and later wrote a letter to her saying, “Just take good care of my eyes, dear.”

This is how the human brain changes when our status changes.

Only few remember what life was before and who’s always been there, even in the most painful situations.

*********

Life is a gift.

* * * * * * *

Today, before you think of saying an unkind word, think of someone who can’t speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food, think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife, think of someone who’s crying out to God for a companion.

Today, before you complain about life, think of someone who went too early to heaven.

Before you complain about your children, think of someone who desires children but they’re barren.

Before you argue about your dirty house because someone didn’t clean or sweep, think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive, think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet, and, when you are tired and complain about your job, think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.

And, when depressing thoughts seem to get you down, put a smile on your face and thank God you’re alive and still around.

Life is a gift. Live it, enjoy it, celebrate it, and fulfill it.

Attitude

January 6, 2008 at 4:48 pm (Random, Ranting) (, , , , )

There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
“Well,” she said, “I think I’ll braid my hair today.” So she did, and she had a wonderful day. The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
“H-M-M,” she said, “I think I’ll part my hair down the middle today.” So she did, and she had a grand day. The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she
had only one hair on her head.
“Well,” she said, “today I’m going to wear my hair in a pony tail.  So she did, and she had a fun, fun day. The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn’t a single hair on her head.
“YEA!” she exclaimed, “I don’t have to fix my hair today!”

Attitude is everything. Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Live simply,

Love generously,

Care deeply,

Speak kindly,

Leave the rest to God

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass… It’s about learning to dance in the rain.

Just Wait and See

January 3, 2008 at 3:40 pm (Random) (, , , , , , , )

We are parts of old,

parts of new,

and when you are dead and i am through,

think this my many friends,

we will be together once again.

In heaven we may be,

just you wait, watch, and see.

I will then tell you and you will tell me

what thing you have become to be.

Some will say happy,

and some will say bad.

I will ask the bad what they had.

They will say nothing for i am sad.

I will say that

you must give in order to live

and be happy again my many friends.

I know for sure that you must endore

the pain that follows life every where you go.

But please don’t fret

and you must not forget

love is in life

and life is in everyone,

in you and me.

Just wait and see!

Great Comebacks

December 29, 2007 at 1:57 pm (Random, Ranting) (, , , , , )

When in England at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of ‘empire building’ by George Bush. He answered by saying, “Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.” It became very quiet in the room.
Then there was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and Americans. During a break one of the French engineers came back into the room saying “Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intend to do, bomb them?” A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: “Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias
with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight
deck. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?” Once again, dead silence.
A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, ‘Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French? Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied ‘Maybe it’s because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German. You could have heard a pin drop.
